Abstract
The neuro-ophthalmolgic examination is essential to evaluate patients with headache and ocular pain. Many serious, and sometimes life-threatening, secondary causes of headache have neuro-ophthalmologic symptoms and signs. Furthermore, understanding the neuro-ophthalmologic examination may also assist in making a primary headache diagnosis, such as migraine and trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias. In this review, we will discuss common neuro-ophthalmologic manifestations of patients with headache and ocular pain to help making the correct diagnosis.
